At our anxiety treatment centers in California, we get to know each person so we understand how they experience their anxiety disorder and how to help them overcome it. We provide up-to-date, evidence-based therapies designed to improve symptoms of anxiety and put people back in control. Our staff also consults with each person to determine if using a prescription medication will help ease their anxiety.
What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a natural human emotion that usually arises in response to stress. Anxiety disorders cause people to feel a consistent level of anxiousness and fear that impacts many areas of their lives. They often have physical symptoms, such as a racing heart, sweating, or panic attacks. Severe anxiety causes a person to be unable to regulate their emotions. Also, individuals can experience crippling anxiety symptoms that can become life altering. Anxiety disorders can be triggered by having experienced a stressful or traumatic event, a chemical imbalance in the brain, a genetic history of the illness, or more. There are many other causes and symptoms of anxiety that most people are unaware of. It’s important to understand these in order to know if you or a loved one should seek help.
How Do Our Anxiety Treatment Centers in California Help?
Our staff provides a formal assessment of each person to ensure they have an exact diagnosis of which anxiety disorder they have. From there, we will help each individual determine which level of care will address their needs. Finally, we create a schedule of different types of therapy sessions that will help people learn healthy coping skills for their anxiety. As well, our California based treatment for anxiety often helps resolve past or ongoing stressful life events. In turn, this helps reduce the person’s symptoms.
We also offer access to prescription medications that help ease symptoms of anxiety.

Levels of Care for Treating Anxiety
Treating anxiety can be done using two different main types of treatment. The first is called residential treatment and requires a person to live for a period of 30 days or more in a facility that specializes in treating mental health disorders. For severe cases of anxiety, this is often the best initial approach. It allows people to receive round-the-clock care without being distracted by daily responsibilities and stressors back home.
After leaving residential care, or as an alternative to it, many people respond well to outpatient programs. Outpatient care means the individual can live in their own home and travel to our facility for their therapy sessions. There are three levels of outpatient care, and a thorough assessment of each person will determine which one will provide them with the best results.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): The partial hospitalization level takes place five to seven days per week for several hours per day. It is designed for people who do not need the 24/7 care provided by residential treatment but still need support most days of the week.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Intensive outpatient is the mid-level of outpatient care and can be a starting point or come after completing residential or PHP. Therapy sessions usually take place four to five days per week for half a day.
Regular Outpatient Program (OP): The lowest level of outpatient care is usually the last one people use. They attend a few therapy sessions per week designed to help them transition to post-treatment with the ability to manage their mental health without regular appointments.
